Introduction
The showdown event is open every weekend (Saturday, Sunday) from 10:00 to 22:00. Here you can fight with players from other servers. You can defend your own server against attacking players and attack other servers.
You can attack 3 different things.
Other players
Mobs
Lightspawn (Boss)
There are 4 different rankings
Personal ranking = how many points you earn by defeating targets
Defense ranking = how many players you killed while they were attacking your server, 1 kill = 1 point
Monster Slayer ranking = how many mobs you killed on other servers 1 mob = 1 point
Server Ranking = your server rank
More important than you think!
My personal favorite is the showdown event in the game, it’s a simple but great event where you can collect great rewards if you actively participate in the game.
The 1st place finishes give really high rewards, so it’s worth actively participating in the event and it’s important that the more times you finish in a good place, the higher the hundred slashed the higher level you can upgrade to, giving you an advantage over other players. At the time of writing this post the hundred slashed is lvl 5, while the other top players have a maximum of lvl 3.
Best tactics
Personal ranking
Early in the server, the best way to score points is definitely to kill players and mobs. Mobs give more points, but they have cd on them. Therefore the best tactic is to attack 1 mob -> 1 player. This way you can get around 21-23.000 points max.
Above 20.000 points, mobs not giving you point, so attack only players if you are going for high score!
Don’t go fighting alone!
Organize a team and go in at least 10 at a time to attack another server.
If you attack as a team, you’re much less likely to get camped by defenders, so you can farm more. If you do this at least 4 times over the course of the weekend, you’re sure to have a turn where no one will attack you, so you can maximize your points.
I illustrate the tactic in the video below.
Once you’ve progressed enough, you may want to switch to attacking lightspawn instead of mobs and players to maximize your points. The switching point where you should switch is roughly here: (These are just approximate numbers so you can calculate)
Lava boss dmg: 30.000B
Abyssal portal dmg: 25.000B
Magic Theater dmg: 200T
When attacking mobs and players, use pvp sets and Berserker role.
If you attack lightspawn use full dmg set and Exorcist role.
+1 If you are strong enough to beat the lightspawns quickly, you can play “ping-pong” with another player from another server. This means that you beat the lightspawn on his server and he beats the lightspawn on your server, so you can keep killing them and maximize your points.
Defense ranking
To get a rank 1 here, you need to be active all weekend long and always be on the lookout for when your server is being attacked so you can hunt down the attackers.
If you want to be first here, you should play with Berserker role and use pvp sets.
Even if you are not aiming for 1st place in the defense ranking, it is still worth killing 10 attackers a day, as the first 10 defenses will give you Cross-Server crystal and showdown points.
Each successful defense will give you 10 Cross-Server crystals and 1000 showdown points, so if you do this on Saturday and Sunday, you’ve already earned 200 Cross-Server crystals and 20,000 showdown points for free!
On top of that, you usually have 20 defence points to get into the top 10.
Monster Slayer ranking
Here one killed mob = 1 point
If you attack properly (1 player -> 1 mob) you can kill around 50-60 mobs per round. Based on my experience so far, the 1st place is usually between 250-400 points.
Is it worth spending gems on this?
I would have to say up to a certain level.
Let’s look at two examples, 250 and 400 points.
250 points
To achieve this, you need about 5 rounds, which includes 2 free attempts and 3 attempts for gems, at a cost of 6000 additional gems.
If you finish in first place you will get 4000 gems and 200-200 skill and pal tickets.
200+200=400/35=11,5×600=6900
This means that the value of the tickets will be equivalent to an additional 6900 gems if you convert, so your total winnings in gems will be 10900. So you’ll be 4900 gems richer for what you spent, and you’ll also have 300 Cross-Server crystals to upgrade your hunderd slash.
400 points
You’ll need about 8 rounds to do this, which includes 2 free tries, and 6 additional tries for gems, at a cost of 12000 additional gems.
If you finish in first place you will get 4000 gems and 200-200 skill and pal tickets.
200+200=400/35=11,5×600=6900
This means that the value of the tickets will be equivalent to an additional 6900 gems if you convert, so your total winnings in gems will be 10900.
That puts you at a bit of a loss, you’re negative exactly 1100 gems, but I still think 1100 gems is worth 300 Cross-Server crystals, and I’d even take a shot at losing 3100 gems on the event.
That’s broken down monthly, 4400 / 12400 gem cost, which is a very small amount compared to a month’s worth of gem income.
